Found 14 kilometers from the southern side of Hamilton, New Zealand in the region of Waikato, the Hamilton International Airport is a public-use airport constructed on the exact site where the Royal New Zealand Air Force base once stood during World War II. However, it wasn’t until 1950 when the first commercial flight was offered at the airport. The passenger traffic in the airport blossomed immediately, and soon enough, it became the country’s eleventh-busiest airport.
