It is owned and operated by the St. Augustine - St. Johns County Airport Authority.

The Northeast Florida Regional Airport occupies 668 acres (270 hectares) of land with three asphalt runways and three seaplane lanes. The longest of the runways is 13/31 with a measurement of 8,002 × 150 feet (2,439 × 46 meters). The 6/24 runs 2,701 × 60 feet (823 m × 18 meters) and the 2/20 is 2,614 × 75 feet (797 × 23 meters) long. Remodeling and expansion of its terminal building was completed in 1994, resulting in the addition of office spaces, a pilot briefing area, a pilot lounge with shower facilities, conference facilities, and ticket counters with accessible waiting and baggage areas. The Fly-By Café with its second-story view of the airfield opened in 1997, offering aviation-themed dishes amid a backdrop of colorful murals featuring airplane and airshow memorabilia. There have been no commercial flights through UST since ViaAir’s Charlotte service was suspended in November of 2018.
