The airport handles mid-sized aircrafts and is operated by FSUE “Magnitogorsk Air Enterprise”. It serves the industrial city of Magnitogorsk and its nearby city Magnitnoye. Magnitogorsk is the second largest city in Russia and is named after an iron rich Magnitnaya Mountain. It is a place where Europe and Asia meet as the city occupies both continents.
