Candlewood Hotel or Candlewood Suites Hotel, part of one of the biggest hotel conglomerates, the Intercontinental Hotels Group, is a leader in the extended-stay segment of the American hotel industry. Founded in 1995 by Jack Deboer, founder of the Residence Inn, and co-founder of the Summerfield Suites chain, Candlewood Hotel was later on acquired by IHG.

The difference between other hotels and Candlewood is focused on providing sensitive-rates on studio-type living quarters complete with a fully-equipped kitchen and large work area. The Candlewood Cupboard (an on-site convenience store) also allows the occupants to stock up their kitchen with beverages and snacks available 24/7 at very low prices. The hotel seeks to bring the home-like feel by offering both convenience and comfort. Candlewood Suites brand also introduced the Lending Locker, a place within the hotel where guests can borrow common household items to use during their stay. Among the top borrowed items are Monopoly and some kitchen equipment used for baking. The Candlewood Gym and free Guest Laundry are open around the clock too. The brand is usefully situated in corporate, industrial, and suburban locations adding to its market appeal.
